	A safari with a difference that explores the northern circuit of Kenya (Samburu, Lake Baringo, Bogoria and Lake Nakuru) where you enjoy real animal and bird-life spectacles that are endemic to this region. Such wildlife includes reticulated and Rothschild's giraffe, gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, the rare kudu and hundreds of bird species including millions of pink flamingoes. Picturesque scenery, geysers and a sample of unique cultures of the Samburu, the cousins to Masai, and Ejems, the smallest Masai group that practice a totally different way of life from the Masai. They are fishermen, a taboo in Masai who are livestock keepers. Day 1: Leave Nairobi in the morning and head northwards crossing the equator into the Northern Hemisphere. The four-hour drive to Samburu Game Reserve offers a chance to see the majestic view of the snow capped Mt. Kenya that straddles the equator. You arrive for afternoon game drive. Samburu region is much endowed with wildlife and bird-life. It is where nature defied itself, astounding the world when a lioness adopted four times baby oryxes which in nature should have been an easy meal. Wildlife to spot includes reticulated giraffe, lions, leopards, Grevy's zebra etc with hundreds of migratory birds. Overnight in tents. Day 2: Go for a full day game drive to spot more game or birds for bird lovers. During the mid-day sun we retire to one of the lodges for a swim or cold drink. Overnight in tents. Day 3: Have an early morning game drive before leaving for Lake Baringo. En-route we visit a Samburu village to sample up some of their cultures. Proceed on through ragged, semi-arid plains and hills occasionally meeting Samburu and Pokot herdsmen tending to their herds. Arrive in the afternoon to set up camp and relax at the shore of the lake. Lake Baringo is a bird paradise and home to Ejems and the Tugen people. Overnight in tents. Day 4: Go for a boat right to visit the Ejems’ Island with opportunities for bird watching. Ejems are the smallest Masai group that practices a totally different way of life from the Masai. They are fishermen, a taboo in Masai who are livestock keepers. You get opportunities to see their age-old fishing rafts that are hand-made. Visit one of the family on the island who is expertly involved in a rare farming of snake keeping. An opportunity to interact with this unique community. Overnight in tents. Day 5: Leave in the morning for Lake Bogoria to spot thousands of pink flamingoes, enjoy the view of picturesque of the lake and hot geysers. The geysers are so hot and can cook an egg in less than five minutes. Overnight in tents on the lakeshore. Day 6: We go on short hike to watch the flamingoes feeding on the green algae or spot the shy rare kudu in the nearby bushes. Later return to depart for Lake Nakuru to arrive for an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is a world heritage site, bird paradise home to millions of pink flamingoes, a wildlife sanctuary for endangered black and white rhinos, and the rare Rothschild's giraffe. Other animals to spots are lions, leopards etc. Overnight in tents inside the park. Day 7: Go for a further game drive to spot more game or visit the lake for a photogenic view of millions of flamingoes feeding on the green algae, the substance that gives them the pink colour. Later leave for Nairobi. Charges: From US $1390 to US $2650 per person depending on the group size. We utilize rooming tents with bed and beddings, mobile toilets and hot showers while on safari and utilize mountain huts/ tents while on treks. Food is fresh and prepared with good standards of hygiene.  We use qualified staff and pay well above average. As part of our commitment to community support we allocate 7% of the monies toward local charities/ projects and we ensure that our clients get personalized service by accompanying them on some of the trips.
